The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Bahrain has issued updates to its framework for Fixed Point-to-Point Links and Point-to-Multi-Point Systems after completing its public consultation process.

Under the revised approach, new Fixed Service assignments will no longer be issued in the 6.425–7.125 GHz and 39.5–40.5 GHz bands. Existing assignments in these bands may continue and remain eligible for renewal.

The updated framework also includes revised technical conditions and an annex covering IMT-related frequency bands, bringing the policy closer to international spectrum planning practices.

TRA has also confirmed its support for light licensing in the 57–66 GHz band, enabling the use of advanced fixed wireless technologies. The Authority will continue reviewing future options for the upper 6 GHz band, including possible use for IMT, Wi-Fi, and other wireless services.
