Egypt’s NTRA to Launch Fast-Track Pre-Type Approval for Telecom Equipment

Egypt’s National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (NTRA) is preparing a new Fast-Track Pre-Type Approval process for telecom equipment importers. The aim is simple: less paperwork, shorter waiting times, and faster market entry.

Standards are not being relaxed. All covered equipment must still meet NTRA’s technical and regulatory rules, and type approval remains mandatory before any telecom device can be imported, assembled or sold in Egypt.

Full details and the start date are yet to be announced. Until then, the current approval rules apply.
