Devices Subject to ICTA Certification in Türkiye
In Türkiye, ICTA certification is required for a bunch of devices including mobile phones, tablets and laptops – in addition to some wireless communication devices such as radios, Bluetooth devices and Wi-Fi routers. Other types of products include: smart home devices (like pet feeders and smart plugs), GPS units, wearables (smart watches or fitness trackers), television and broadcasting equipment, drones. In addition, RF Devices (Radio Frequency) that have wireless communication features including but not limited to Radio/WLAN/USB devices that work without wires, wireless supported Medical devices, Wireless Networking equipment and surveillance cameras also need an ICTA certification before it is available in the market in Türkiye.
Exempted Equipment from ICTA
Low-Risk Devices: Electromagnetic detection of low-risk devices that poses little or no risk to the health or safety of individuals (e.g. basic household appliances).
Imports for personal use: Devices brought into the country not for sale but individual use do not require certification.
Passive Devices: Do not produce radiofrequency emissions (USB cables, wired products including headphones)
Devices Already Certified in Other Countries: Products that have already been certified according to recognized international standards (such as CE or FCC) may be exempt from undergoing local certification, subject to certain agreements between Türkiye and other countries.
