CRA Type Approval in Iran is a mandatory regulatory approval issued by the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) under the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

Any product that uses radio frequency (RF), wireless, or telecommunications technology must obtain CRA type approval before it can be imported, distributed, or used in Iran.

CRA Type approval procedure

• Application Submission
  The completed application form is submitted by the authorized local applicant or representative, including a full product description, radio frequency specifications, and a formal radio details declaration.
• Document & Label Review
  Iran CRA reviews all submitted documentation, declared technical parameters, and labeling information, and may evaluate product samples where required.
• Technical & Regulatory Evaluation
  CRA assesses the submitted test reports along with other regulatory requirements, including sales and distribution arrangements and local representative eligibility, where applicable.
• Payment of Type Approval Fees
  Upon acceptance of the application, the Type Approval certificate fee is invoiced and must be paid by the applicant.
• Issuance of Type Approval
  Once all requirements are fulfilled, Iran CRA issues the Type Approval approval electronically. The approval is made available through the CRA online system. Paper certificates are not normally issued, but may be provided upon the applicant’s request.
